This is the public blog of a 20 year old student living in New York City. Ask questions, I'll provide answers. Give me somewhere to explore, and I'll damn well explore it. I'm just here to provide a little window into a New Yorker's life for those that might not live here, and make some friends with those who do.

Anonymous asked: "I’m sorry that I find British history interesting, watch a ton of Premier League and yeah, love the accent. " THAT'S YOU, YOU IDIOT. NOT THE WHOLE COUNTRY. Someone asked you if Americans "go crazy" over the British. YOU ANSWERED YES. THE COUNTRY DOES NOT. Stop acting like we give a shit! The Royal Wedding was a fucking joke! Stop making us seem like we're a bunch of idiots who look up to the British for ANYTHING.
What’s your problem with the UK? I know I’m not the only person that feels that way. And really, royal wedding.. like they don’t look at us and go “at least our wedding specials aren’t on the Kardashians who are famous for nothing.” Come on. I’m done answering your asks.
Sorry if I offended any other Americans, lulz.
Anonymous asked: You're that stupid that you equated that to that? Who the hell are you and why are you so stupid? Americans don't think twice about British people and when we happen to run into one, we send them to our nearest dentist! America doesn't hate foreigners you moron but to pretend that we go apeshit over a British accent is the reason nobody takes us seriously. Don't contribute to the stupidity.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize the word “yeap” could be equated to apeshit… I for one happen to love talking to people from other countries because they have a different world view. I’m sorry that I find British history interesting, watch a ton of Premier League and yeah, love the accent.
And saying that all Americans “don’t think twice” while simultaneously saying all British people have bad teeth is probably more of the reason people don’t take us seriously.
Anonymous asked: Why the hell did you tell someone Americans go crazy over the British? What America are you living in and why are you portraying us so horribly?
Are Americans not allowed to like foreigners now?
Jeez.
Anonymous asked: Hi! I was wondering when the ballet performances are held? And where too? I've been dying to go to New York, I really do. I'm just waiting for the right time. I want to really try everything-- the parties, the shopping, the art, the fashion. Ahhh, someday, I hope.
There are a bunch in Lincoln Center/Met Opera at all times of the year, probably a bit more during the holidays. Depends what you’re looking for - there are small venues that do ballets too.
Anonymous asked: upright citizens brigade? have you seen it, interested in seeing it or have no idea what it is :)
haven’t seen it - know what it is, definitely interested in checking it out!
Anonymous asked: I want to move to NY for a year so i can experience all the seasons. Which neighborhood would you reccomend that is cheap but safe. How much could i expect to pay in rent per month xoxoxo
It really depends what you’re looking for. I have so many asks like this right now - it’s not easy to just give someone a neighborhood based on rent/safety because there are a bunch of affordable/safe places n the city.. depending on where you wanna be and what you’re into.
This is fascinating. Not only is this subway conductor full of statistics (136 people committed suicide on the subway tracks in 2010) but also full of movie knowledge (good horror subway flicks—Midnight Meat Train? Snakes On A Train?) (Source: news.discovery.com, via ohai-mg)
j-complex asked: I've been to New York only once, back in 2000, but I am so hooked. I mean, it's not even the statue of Liberty or the Empire State or Times Square. It's more like the feeling that the place makes me feel when I imagine it in my head or if I see pictures or watch movies. I love how NY is so captivating but at the same time unforgiving. It's actually my motivation to get through med school. I really want to live there. Great blog by the way. :D
thanks! i know what you mean.. although i’ve never been to the empire state or statue of liberty. STAY MOTIVATED. you got this. :)
